Christmas Celebrations 2017

As December is upon us, our Christmas celebrations are in full swing with our ‘Xmas Extravaganza’ party & a ‘6 Pubs of Christmas’ event.

So, in honour of all things festive we are having our Xmas party on December 16th at 6 pm, in the Back Page pub, Phibsborough. There will be Pool, Foosball, and over 100+ board games, along with many other festive activities to keep you entertained and merry at the party.

There will be food available for all which will include a handmade pizza selection veggie and vegan options available), boards of homemade garlic bread, bruschetta, olives, roasted nuts and cheese, and a selection of freshly made dips.

Our ‘6 Pubs of Christmas’ event will take place on Friday 7th, December at 5:30 with the first pub of the night being DCU’s own NuBar. Check out the facebook event for more details or join the WhatsApp group to stay in the loop and find out the pub list.

As usual, we will also be having our ‘Weekly Meetup’ on Friday, at 6 PM in the NuBar. There will be food served between 6:30-7:00 PM.

PubhD 25: Radiotherapy, Cooking and Entrepreneurship

Our 25th event will take place on the 6th December at 7:00 pm downstairs in the Doyle’s Bar (9 College St, Dublin 2, Dublin) near Trinity College Dublin. This event will extend to the Dublin PubhD Xmas Party! Our 3 speakers for the evening will be:

Amy Buckley is a PhD Student at the Department of Surgery, at Trinity College Dublin. Her research aims to develop new radiotherapy models.

JJ Healy is a lecturer in Culinary Arts in CIT Cork and is in the closing stages of his PhD. He has worked as a professional chef for 30 years, spending the last 8 years lecturing. His research is looking to create a Framework of Critical Success Factors for Independent Restaurants.

Gavan Cleary is a 2nd year PhD student in DIT. A mature student and late convert to academia, Gavan spent over 25 years in sales and management before deciding to change careers. He graduated with an H.Dip. (Hons) in Cloud and Web Technologies from DBS in 2014. He then continued his education obtaining an M.Sc. in Innovation and Technology Management from DIT in 2015. His research is focused on developing practical toolkits to support social entrepreneurs as they create new social enterprises in Ireland.
